I’m Deborah Adeoye, also known online as Dearly Debbie. I design and build digital experiences, collect ideas faster than I can finish them, and care deeply about faith, culture, technology and the small details that make things easier to use.
This site is where those interests are allowed to sit beside one another without being forced into a neat professional summary.

A little more context
“I’m less interested in tidy labels than in useful connections.”
I grew up in Nigeria and now live in the UK. My route into design has not been particularly linear: it has moved through science, software, product work, care, research, storytelling and a growing interest in building useful products of my own.
Those shifts have made me less interested in tidy labels and more interested in how people actually experience systems, services, stories and technology.
I tend to notice where something feels confusing, impersonal or unnecessarily difficult, then start wondering how it could work better.
What I care about
Design
I care about clarity, dignity and reducing the small frustrations people are too often expected to tolerate.
Culture
I’m interested in what people carry across places: language, humour, memory, food, faith and ways of seeing.
Storytelling
Stories help us keep what data, documentation and polished summaries tend to leave out.
Technology
I’m interested in useful technology, especially when it supports human judgement instead of replacing it.
Building
I enjoy moving an idea from a vague note into something another person can actually use.

Start with the person
The cleverest system is still poorly designed if the person using it feels lost.

Make the idea tangible
I understand things better once I can sketch, prototype, test or build them.

Leave room for meaning
Usefulness matters, but so do memory, emotion, culture and the way an experience stays with someone.

Finish more often
I have no shortage of ideas. The discipline I’m practising now is choosing, completing and releasing them.
