Website Concept · Travel and retreat
Tide & Timber
A retreat website study exploring atmosphere, accommodation discovery and experience-led booking.

01 · Challenge
The design problem.
How can a retreat website make accommodation discovery useful without losing the emotional pull of the landscape?
02 · Objectives
What I wanted to achieve.
- 01Let landscape establish the emotional proposition.
- 02Give each cabin a clear and comparable identity.
- 03Keep experiences connected to place rather than presented as a list.
- 04Make the path to booking clear without rushing the story.
03 · Design direction
A clear visual point of view.
Forest green, misty blue-grey, cream and warm wood create a cinematic but grounded retreat language. A Piazzolla-inspired serif introduces a slower rhythm, while large landscape and cabin images carry most of the story.
Design principles
- 01Lead with atmosphere
- 02Let nature be the hero
- 03Keep content focused and intentional
- 04Use earthy tones and tactile textures
- 05Create space to breathe

05 · Reflection
What stayed with me.
This study reinforced that travel design needs both longing and orientation. The landscape creates the desire to stay; the cabin structure makes that desire actionable. If extended, I would develop availability, seasonal comparison and a quieter step-by-step booking flow.
06 · What I explored
The threads inside the work.
- Immersive travel storytelling
- Accommodation discovery
- Atmosphere-led UX
- Responsive booking hierarchy
