Build

Projects
in progress.

Not everything here is finished. That is partly the point.

This is where I keep the ideas I’m actively building, testing, pausing, revising and occasionally returning to after pretending I had moved on.

Tracing paper, wireframe sketches, botanicals and project fragments arranged on a softly lit studio desk.

Project status guide

Active

Being worked on now.

Forming

The idea is clear enough to keep.

Resting

Paused without being abandoned.

Released

Public, submitted or complete enough to leave the desk.

Studio

A design studio for thoughtful brands, digital products and experiences that help people understand what they are using and why it matters.

Perah Studio is the umbrella for my design work, client projects and a growing collection of in-house experiments. I am building it slowly, with more interest in useful systems and lasting relationships than in looking busy.

Current focus: establishing the studio website, building a clearer body of work and developing small products through Perah Lab.

Things currently taking shape

A mix of products, experiments, archives and ideas at different stages.

Process

How I usually build

Not a fixed framework. Just the pattern I seem to return to.

  1. 1

    Notice

Something feels confusing, missing or harder than it needs to be.

  2. 2

    Frame

I try to understand the actual problem before committing to a polished answer.

  3. 3

    Make

I sketch, prototype, write or code until the idea becomes concrete enough to test.

  4. 4

    Release

    the difficult bit

I am learning to let useful work leave the desk before it feels completely finished.

Still becoming

Some projects are public. Some are still becoming clear.
